ANKARA: Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on Monday arrived in Turkey for a four-day visit. The prime minister will hold extensive dialogue for cooperation in the commerce, investment, energy, defence, communication and petroleum sectors. The prime minister and his Turkish counterpart Tayyip Erdogan will inaugurate the High Level Cooperation Council (HLCC), which will provide a unique opportunity to chart a long-term trajectory of Pakistan-Turkey relations.
Gilani will also address the Turkish Grand National Assembly and meet Turkish President Abdullah Gul. In recognition of the prime minister’s efforts to promote relations between the two countries, the Turkish president will confer on him the ‘Republic Order’ (Cumhuriyet Nisan) award at a special ceremony.
