ISLAMABAD: Support for Pakistan Army and ‘mujahideen’ echoed as Jamaat-e-Islami workers responded to the slogans of their former Amir Qazi Hussain Ahmad during the sit-in staged against price hike, corruption and non-recovery of missing people at the Parade Avenue on Sunday.
“Are you with Pak Army and mujahideen (fighting against foreign elements)?,” shouted Qazi Hussain Ahmad followed by the affirmative voices raised by the participants of the sit-in. Qazi also sought government support for mujahideen saying they were fighting the US agents in Pakistan. He also raised a question to the participants of the sit-in whether America was a terrorist and got reply in affirmative.
During his address, Qazi warned the US if it attempted to attack Pakistan as it did in Afghanistan, it would meet the same consequences as it met in Afghanistan. Qazi said generals and politicians had become slaves. He said the US secret diplomacy had exposed its real face. He also demanded the chief justice help recover the missing people.
Qazi feared that conspiracies were being hatched to unleash sectarian violence in the country. JI Amir Syed Munawar Hassan warned the rulers that sit-in was not the end but the beginning of a struggle against corruption, price hike and for the recovery of missing people. He also criticised the foreign policy of the country and added Muslim extremism was the by-product of the circumstances the super powers created by keeping mum on the issues of Palestine and Kashmir.
