NBP refutes report on dismissal of union general secretary
KARACHI: The National Bank of Pakistan has clarified a news report pertaining to dismissal of the NBP Trade Union General Secretary Syed Jehangir. According to NBP, the report claims illegal dismissal of the General Secretary from the bank service and adds that court management of the Bank is refusing his reinstatement.
NBP stated that Jehangir was dismissed from service on charges of misconduct after completing the due process of departmental enquiry. The NIRC, Islamabad, suspended orders of his dismissal but the bank challenged the order of NIRC in the High Court of Sindh.
The High Court suspended the order of NIRC and the matter is therefore sub judice before the High Court of Sindh. The report published in different newspapers is one sided and none of the banks stand at the factual position. In addition, persecution of the employees of bank is malicious and defamatory.
The bank has always taken steps for amelioration of the working conditions of its employees and has been granting them maximum benefits. Staff Report
