ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has summoned 11 members of parliament and provincial assemblies on today (Monday) to hear cases pertaining to their fake degree.
The members would defend their degrees before a special committee of the ECP. The two National Assembly members summoned by the ECP are Ghulam Dastageer Rajar and Jawad Hussain, from Rizwan Gul, Farah Deeba, Afshan Faroque, Haji Nasir Mehmood and Suhail Kamran from the Punjab Assembly, Mukaish Kumar, Nadir Magsi and Bashir Ahmad Khan from the Sindh Assembly and Yaar Muhammad Rind from the Balochistan Assembly.
Sources said the hearing into the fake degrees’ cases are in final stage and would be settled by the end of December after which action would be taken against fake degree-holders in the light of the Supreme Court verdict.
