LAHORE: Renowned TV actor Jamil Fakhri’s son is still unaccounted for, even after the lapse of over a year. In this regard he held a press conference appealing for any kind of help to at least locate his son’s body, in case he had died during this time.
Pakistan’s diplomats in Washington said that the FBI had completed its investigations, and a report in this connection was expected in the next week. Pakistan’s envoy in the US Hussain Haqqani had earlier filed a report with the government officials in June this year, with regard to Ayaz Jafri, who went missing in the US last year.
The search is underway ever since. Jamil Fakhri in the press conference said that that he tried his level best to be in touch with the Pakistani Ambassador in USA as well as the FIA and the CIA but nobody gave him a proper response.
“Nowadays even the Pakistani ambassador does not respond to my phone call,” he said, his face streaked with tears. Ayaz went out of his residence in New York in Feburary 2009, along with his friend and did not return. His car was found burnt to the shell, but with no remains of any body.
No news of even kidnapping for ransom has heard till now, nor any other tip off. The family is unaware that their son is dead or alive, and say there is no reason for him to be targeted in any way.
