Abida Parveen needs another angioplasty

LAHORE: The special medical board constituted on the instructions of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for the treatment of renowned folk singer Abida Perveen has furnished its recommendations to the government.
Senior doctors included in the SMB are of the opinion that another cardiac vain of Abida Perveen requires angioplasty which would be possible after four to six weeks. In this connection, Health Secretary Fawad Hassan Fawad said that the CM while declaring Abida Perveen as a national asset has ordered for the free treatment of the legendary folk singer.
The Health secretary further said that the government would provide the facility of angioplasty to Abida Perveen whichever hospital she would like to get treatment in including the Punjab Institute of Cardiology. He said that the government would bear all expenses for her treatment.
The Special Medical Board consisting upon Chief Executive PIC Professor Dr Mohammad Azher, Professor Dr Nadeem Hayat Malik, Dr Tariq Waseem and CEO of Doctor’s Hospital, Lahore Dr Muhammad Sarwer. Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif also confirmed that the Punjab government will bear all medical expenses of Abida Perveen until her complete recovery.
He directed the Health Department to constitute a board comprising specialist doctors for her treatment. The CM said that Abida Perveen is a national asset and a prominent singer. The whole nation is proud of her achievements. The people of Punjab have special association with ‘ma’arfana kalam’ that is why he himself is a great admirer of her. He also prayed for the early recovery of Abida Perveen.
