Time to step up

Sometime it is shocking to hear myopic reaction of any political partys loyalist to attribute a constructive thought as criticism on his party. I was pained to hear a reaction of a politician to the call of a TV viewer. The caller said that the PPP should have preferred to divert all the money spent (even if from PPP funds) on Youm-e-Tasis in Peshawar, Gari Khuda Buksh and on other places to the flood relief affected persons. He also said that the expenses of any ruling party functions could not be met from the state exchequer.

Sadly, in response to the said caller the politician gave a strange twist of his simple suggestions by saying that the caller belonged to PML(N). He also made sad remarks about Muslim League. This was totally uncalled for by the politician and it rather cast a negative impact on his political credentials.

The nation has a right to ask the political leaders as to how they can improve the condition of the country and its economy when they are not even serious about saving costs on events that do not even involve the majority of the people.
