114 Sindh judges have no official transport

KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) Registrar Abdul Rasool Memon submitted a report before a division bench of the SHC on Tuesday that revealed that 114 judges of the province have no vehicle for their official use.
According to the report 18 district and sessions judges of grade 21 and 91 additional session judges, senior civil judges and civil judges from grade 18 to 20 don’t have a vehicle for official use.
Sindh Advocate General Yousaf Leghari and Finance Department Additional Secretary Rafiq Ahmed informed the bench comprising Chief Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmani and
Justice Salman Ahmed that the Sindh government had allocated over Rs 80.4 million in the current financial year to buy vehicles for the judges, but the government reduced 64 percent of the amount due to the recent devastating floods in the province.
The division bench directed the government to immediately release the remaining 36 percent amount and inform the court about the progress within a month.
