LAHORE: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Monday filed a reference against former Assistant Advocate General Punjab Seema Munawar in an accountability court on the charge of receiving more than Rs. 3.859 million as family pension on fake documents.
The father of the accused, justice (R) Munawar Elahi Rana died on November 5, 1982, while her mother died on November 1, 1998 After the death of her mother, the accused applied for family pension showing herself to be single and without a regular source of income.
She also provided an affidavit in this regard. The accused started practicing law after enrolling as a lawyer in 1988. She was added to the panel of lawyers of the Bank of Punjab on August 8, 1991. She has also served as a consultant to the Wafaqi Ombudsmen from January 1999 to August 2003. She was appointed as the assistant advocate general Punjab on March 4, 2006 and served till May 4, 2007. She got married on October 17, 1995 and was divorced in august 1998.
