‘Over the Edge’

This is in reply to the article dated 27 November by Raoof Hasan titled ‘Over the Edge’. Let alone Mr Hasan is the chief media consultant to CM, Punjab, it could have been equally astonishing/pleasing had he written an article which would not have had so much bias in his message.

Obviously, he has targeted the federal government alleging that the federal government has done nothing right. With his claim that RGST was PPP originated and that PPP has gone ahead and done things without consulting its coalition partners. The truth of the matter is that all parties with the exception of PTI have agreed to RGST.

PML(N) PML(Q) have both walked out of the National Assembly as a protest. It was nothing short of a hypocritical move, something not new to the current politicians. They ran away from this only to give way to the PPP to handle the floor and get the bill passed.

What affect, if any, will the rich and affluent class of Pakistan face in the event that RGST is imposed? Absolutely none.

What can be worse then a shrinking middle class which is the real backbone and heart of the national economy?

Mr Hasan has written nothing that is new information to the public. Rewriting what every one already knows in fancy words is no smart writing. In fact, its just the contrary. If this is what the media consultant of CM, Punjab can come up with to write about, there is an evident huge disconnect between him and the general population.

Mr Hasan, please do us a favour. Write things that can help the common man, you know the mango awaam general population. We need better employment, better wages, an better standard of life.
