Six more F-16s arrive to bolster air power

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Saturday received six new F-16 aircraft from the United States, taking the number of such fighters with Pakistan Air Force to 12.
According to Pakistan Air Force spokesman, the new F-16 jets landed at the Shahbaz Air Base in Jacobabad and would be inducted to the Pakistan Air Force soon.
Pakistan had signed a contract with the US government in 2005-06 for the acquisition of 18, F-16 C/D Block 52 aircrafts. Under this arrangement, the Pakistan Air Force would receive these state-of-the-art aircrafts from the US in staggered batches.
Three F-16 C/D Block 52 high tech fighter aircrafts already arrived in October, while another batch of six F-16 jets will be delivered in December.
