ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan will hear fake degree cases of 24 legislators on Monday (today).
As many as four MNAs, two senators and 18 members of the provincial assemblies have been summoned by the ECP to defend their cases. Out of 18 MPAs, seven belong to Punjab, four each from Khyber-Pakhtoonkhawa and Balochistan assemblies while three are from the Sindh Assembly.
The MNAs who will appear before the ECP are Jawad Hussain, Hayat Ullah Tareen, Mazhar Hayat and Akhonzada Chattan while Senators Mohabbat Khan Marri and Rehana Baloch will also defend their degrees.
Shaukat Aziz Bhatti, Samina Khawar Hayat, Ijaz Ahmed, Badshah Khan Qaisrani, Nisar Mehmood, Saimal Kamran and Saima Aziz, the members of the Punjab Assembly, will appear before ECP’s special hearing committee. The members of the Balochistan Assembly summoned by ECP are Yar Muhammad Rind, Abdus Samad Khanzada, Aji Ali Madad, Shama Pervaiz Magsi while the members of KP Assembly are Aaqil Shah, Sher Azam Wazir, Khalifa Abdul Qayyum and Sardar Ali.
Three members of the Sindh Assembly, Nadir Magsi, Mukesh Kumar and Tatneer Sawani will appear before the ECP.
