Obama’s visit to India – BJP worried by silence on Pakistan

NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Saturday said US President Barack Obama missed a chance to connect with the Indian people by not denouncing Pakistan for exporting terror to India.
“Obama’s first speech at the Taj hotel, which saw the biggest terror attack on India, was disappointing. We were expecting a hard-hitting statement from the US president on 26/11,” BJP spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy said, referring to the 2008 terror attack.
Obama avoided any mention of Pakistan, which is blamed by India for the attack that left 166 people dead. “The world knows now that the attack was Pakistani soil by its intelligence agencies,” Rudy said, adding that by remaining silent on Pakistan, Obama had missed an opportunity to strike a chord with Indians.
