ISLAMABAD: Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Ameer of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), on Saturday alleged that the armed forces had bombed more than 50 mosques and blown up many houses, killing women and children during the operation against militants.
“Innocent people were killed by the forces but the media did not report this because it received orders not to, from the forces,” said the JUI-F leader in his address to the media at the second session of the South Asian Free Media Association (SAFMA) national conference.
“I don’t believe in arms and my party has condemned militancy because I believe in parliamentary politics. The government too should review its policy of operations against militants”, he said. He said the Americans claimed they would capture Afghanistan in three years but it had been ten years and they had not gained control of the region.
