Seven dead in road accidents

Lahore: Seven people died and several others were injured in seven road accidents in the provincial capital on Wednesday.
Ahsan, a resident of the Ravi Road, was knocked down by a trolley loaded carrying iron rods. Severely injured, Ahsan was rushed to the hospital where he died. Ahsan’s relatives staged a protest on Ravi Road and demanded the police to arrest the trolley driver who escaped after knocking Ahsan down. The protesters dispersed after the police assured to arrest the driver as early as possible.
A 26-year-old died when a trolley smashed him while he was attempting to cross the road in the Shahdara Police precincts. Police said that the deceased is yet to be identified and the body has been shifted to the Mayo Hospital morgue.
Majid (30), a resident of the Jameel Park, was going home on a rickshaw when an over speeding vehicle crashed with his rickshaw; he died, in the Shahdara Police precincts. The police have registered an FIR against the unidentified and have started an investigation.
A 44-year-old, Liaquat was knocked down by a rashly driven Hillux in the jurisdiction of Mehmood Booti police. According to the police, the deceased was crossing the road when he was bumped by a Hillux.
An injured man, who was admitted at a local hospital a couple of days ago on account of a traffic accident at Manga Mandi, died on Wednesday.
Rashid (30) was knocked down by an unidentified car in the Burki Police precincts. Rashid was on his bike when a car crashed into him. Police registered an FIR on the report of a media person.
A woman died while two sustained injuries when a vehicle knocked them down in the Nishtar Town Police precincts on Wednesday. Police said the deceased was identified as Khursheed Bibi (60) and was a resident of Nishtar Chowk. Khursheed with her grandson Adnan and his brother Siddique were crossing the road when a car knocked them down.
They were rushed to the General Hospital where Khursheed died while the two are still in a critical condition.
