Another girls school fell to rubbles this week as militants destroyed the building by detonating explosives in Mohmand tribal area. With the destruction of this school, the total number of schools that have been destroyed has reached 250 during the past few years.
The smouldering of educational institutions is a major tragedy for the youth and must be curtailed. Majority groups of Taliban are against modern education for both boys and girls.
They believe – ironically a misconception – modern education is not in line with Islamic Shariah, thus they have a right to deprive these children of education.
As a concerned citizen I am writing on this pressing issue to promote education in tribal areas and prevent militants from pushing the tribal areas generation into darkness.
