Ex-Coronation Street star Tina O’brien is devastated to leave ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ – because the show was helping her recover from a break-up. The soap star has been nursing a broken heart since her October split from cameraman Nick Cox, who she met on the set of Waterloo Road.
And the blonde beauty, who was booted from Strictly on Sunday, admits she was using the competition as a distraction. She says, “After my relationship with Nick ended, dancing was therapeutic. It gave me more focus and something to think about.
Even though it’s been terrifying it’s been the most fun I’ve had in my life and I’ve got a Strictly-shaped hole in my heart that hurts at the moment.” O’Brien plans to take up dance lessons to continue her new hobby – and she’s tipping Kara Tointon to take home the trophy.
She adds, “From the beginning, Kara’s been an amazing dancer. I love her dearly; she’s the loveliest person in the world.”
