This is in reference to your news story which reported the beating up of a journalist. This act of the police is indeed condemnable.
The Police has unchecked powers in Pakistan and there is not enough accountability. Woe be to the person who would try to initiate any kind of proceedings against a police officer, unless they know somebody in the police of a higher rank or somebody equally influential.
The Police Order implemented in Pakistan may lead to the infringement of many liberties of the common public and a concomitant system of checks to balance the powers granted in that order.
Otherwise, the streets of Pakistan will become a personal fiefdom for the officials of the police.
