ISLAMABAD: Three F-16 Block-52 fighter jets arrived at the Shahbaz Airbase in Jacobabad on Saturday and two more aircraft would arrive next week, a Pakistan Air Force spokesman said.
Of the 18 F-16 jets to be provided by the United States by January 2011, the first consignment of three aircraft reached Pakistan in June this year. The remaining aircraft will be handed over to Pakistan by the end of December, the PAF spokesman said.
These jets will be kept at the Shahbaz Air base as special hangars have been constructed for them and PAF pilots have obtained special training from US to fly these planes, the spokesman added.
