2 killed, 12 injured in Quetta blast

QUETTA
Two people, including a police constable were killed and twelve including five policemen were injured in bomb blast here on Wednesday.
β€œIt was remote-controlled device attached to an electric pole that went off when a police vehicle stopped near a vendor, killing a police constable and a civilian besides injuring another twelve others,” Quetta Deputy Inspector General (Operation) Hamid Shakeel said.
He said it was a terrorist act targeting police personnel, adding that investigation was underway. According to witnesses, the bomb went off on Sardar Munir Mengal Road, behind Balochistan University campus.
The deceased were identified as Constable Sadaqat Ali and vendor Noor Ahmad Zahri while thhe names of the injured are police officials Muhammad Wazir, Liaqat Ali, Asif Ahmad and Abdul Manan and Ashiq Hussain, Khuda Bakhsh, Naik Muhammad, Muhammad Rasool, Muhammad Rais, Hameeda Bibi and Muhammad Azam.
After the blast, police officials and Frontier Corps personnel rushed to the scene and collected evidence for investigation.
