PML-N in catch-22

LAHORE
The Pakistan Muslim League-N leadership held an important meeting at Raiwind on Tuesday to devise a strategy to counter new political developments in the wake of the PPP-PML-Q meeting, insiders told Pakistan Today.
Punjab Chief Minster Shahbaz Sharif was in contact with his elder brother, PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif, all day and discussed the possible consequences of the Babar Awan-Pervaiz Elahi meeting, as well as efforts to unite the Muslim League.
A source said that Nawaz and Shahbaz later held a one-on-one meeting over whether to go for a PML merger or take in PML-Q dissidents. “Nawaz has decided to sort out the issues in a high-powered meeting likely in November,” the source added.
