Obama rings up Zardari

ISLAMABAD
US President Barack Obama on Tuesday telephoned President Zardari to reiterate his support for democracy in Pakistan, saying the US wanted a comprehensive strategic partnership with its South Asian ally in the global anti-terrorism campaign.
According to president’s spokesman Farhatullah Babar, “Both presidents welcomed the substantial progress made at the recent strategic dialogue. Obama invited his counterpart to visit the US, Babar said, adding that Zardari thanked Obama and said he was looking forward to Oabama’s visit to Pakistan early next year.
Earlier, Richard Holbrooke also telephoned Zardari.
