Play highlights how terrorism affects the common man

LAHORE
Laal Chuna, a play depicting the importance of education, concluded at Alhamra on The Mall today. The play was organized by “Jag Sudhar” foundation and a significant audience attended the play.
The play focused on promoting educational awareness among citizens andhighlighted the importance of education to crafting a successful society. The drama also portrayed the threat to a common man’s life posed by terrorism.
The storyline moved around paresnts who wished to see their child as an education practitioner. The child’s father is a painter. The father’s original desire is to see his child become a painter too – but his mother asked him to shift focus and choose the field of education for her child. Thus the parents chose to educate the child and offered him regular schooling.
The parents want their child to be an expert in both religious and modern matters. Thus they choose to send him to both regular school and a madrassa. The country during the time period is facing a terrorist threat. The fate of the child studying to contribute to society is decided in a blast. He looses his life with a number of other children and both his parents and society looses hope.
The organisation “Jag Sudhar” regularly organises workshops and theatre of a similar nature. It claims its aim is to educate people and create awareness of the many social issues that our society faces. Issues highlighted by ‘Jag Sudhar’ include women rights, child labour, child abuses, terrorism and educational awareness. The current play “Laal Chunna” follows the same chain of thought.
