It has been close to two years since Indian filmstar Aamir Khan signed a film last, which was Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘3 Idiots’. After a long break, Aamir has now decided to sign one in the next ten days.
The actor has been meeting various directors and has zeroed down on a few of them. A source tells, “Aamir had quite a few scripts to read. His last film ‘3 Idiots’ broke all box-office records and collected over 425 crore. Any other actor in Aamir’s place would have signed multiple films after the success of ‘3 Idiots’.
However, Aamir got busy with his production venture ‘Peepli Live’.” Recently, people in and around Aamir’s locality have spotted filmmakers like Anuraag Kashyap, Rajkumar Santoshi, Aditya Chopra and John Matthew Matthan entering his house and exiting only late in the night. So, these are the people with whom Aamir may sign his next.
Moreover, we hear, for the past 20 days, Aamir has stopped socialising with others. He doesn’t step out of his house and has been using most of his time to read scripts. Apparently, he has not visited his office for a while now and all his other work has been put on the backburner.
The source added, “Everyone is aware that Aditya Chopra is keen to sign Aamir for ‘Dhoom 3’ and that Anurag Kashyap is talking to him for ‘Bombay Velvet’. John Matthew Matthan has been having discussions with the actor on ‘Sarfarosh 2’ and Rajkumar Santoshi too has a completely different script planned for him. There are other scripts as well but at the moment, Aamir wants to concentrate on these ones.”
When contacted, Aamir Khan’s official spokesperson said, “Yes, Aamir is reading scripts currently and is in the process of finalising one shortly.”
