Around 13 terrorists were killed and several others injured when security forces bombed suspected hideouts of alleged terrorists in Orakzai Agency on Saturday.
The air strikes started after an improvised explosive device hit the convoy of security forces at Yakh Kandaw area in the Orakzai Agency on Friday killing a lieutenant colonel and five other soldiers.
According to details, gunship helicopters targeted the hideouts of terrorists in Khadezai, Dabar and surrounding areas destroying three compounds of terrorists, killing 13 insurgents and injuring 10 others. A large number of civilians have abandoned their houses and shifted to safer places.
Separately, security forces with the help of artillery gunfire bombed suspected hideouts of terrorists in Meerandi, Chanarak and Kruth areas of central Kurram Agency. According to reports, 11 terrorists were killed in the attack and several others injured.
Three hideouts of terrorists were also destroyed in the bombardment. Also on Saturday a terrorist was nabbed by local tribesmen, while trying to plant a bomb, in Chanarak village of central Kurram Agency. Afterwards, the terrorist was shot dead in public.
