Pagara’s Lahore visit unlikely as PML-Q divided

LAHORE
The upcoming Lahore visit of Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) chief Pir Pagara seems unlikely as differences amongst the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) and its dissident group remain unresolved, Pakistan Today has learnt.
The veteran politician was supposed to reach the provincial capital on October 27 and meet leaders of various Muslim League factions on October 28 at a local hotel. According to PML-F sources, it would be difficult for Pagara to go-ahead with the visit when there was little hope of any breakthrough.
PML-Q Secretary General Mushahid Hussain Syed met Pagara on Friday to inform him that the PML-Q would not participate in the talks aimed at unification of all Muslim League factions if the PML-Q dissident group leaders were also invited to the talks.
PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain had also opposed any move to include PML-Q dissident group leaders in the unification process.
