LAHORE: Bank of Khyber (BoK) is planning to commence operations in Afghanistan and Dubai next year, said BoK Managing Director (MD) Bilal Mustafa on Tuesday.
Islamic banking is gaining popularity amongst consumers and it is the primary reason BoK is emphasising on Islamic banking and expanding special Islamic banking branches. He was addressing the media on the inauguration of BoK’s new branch in Lahore.
Mustafa maintained that bank is going from strength to strength rapidly and since its establishment in 2003, has seen marvellous growth. “By the end of this year, there will 54 branches of BoK in the whole country including 21 Islamic banking branches,” he said adding that the bank was the pioneer of Islamic banking operations in Pakistan and is currently servicing more than 100,000 customers.
The bank has branded its Islamic banking ‘Raast Islamic Banking.’
