Rescue 1122 celebrates its 6th Anniversary

The Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue1122) held a ceremony at PCSIR auditorium in celebration of its 6th anniversary.
The ceremony was attended by Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs Rana Sanaullah Khan, Director General Civil Defense Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sarwar Khan Afridi, Chief ICRC Lars Oberhaus and Provincial Monitoring Officer Rescue 1122 Dr. Yahya Butt.
The Punjab Emergency Service was created to serve as an emergency ambulance service in 2004. The Service has now established offices in various districts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The Chief Guest of the ceremony Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs Rana Sanaullah Khan said that under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, the Service has expanded from 12 districts to 35 districts in Punjab and has begun operating in Khyber Pakhtoon Khwa and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The Director General Rescue 1122, Dr. Rizwan Naseer announced that Rescue1122 will organize the SAARC Rescue Challenge in October, 2011. He admired the performance of rescuers for rescuing over 727577 citizens in the last six years while maintaining its response time of less than 7 minutes.
