A special programme telling the story of their friendship is set to be aired on Animal Planet.
Jackson craved for love and affection, but found solace with an unlikely and trusted companion in Bubbles. The animal became famous after accompanying Jackson on his meteoric rise to the top.
The show called ‘Michael Jackson and Bubbles – The Untold Story’ chronicles the unseen footage and untold stories of the ‘Thriller’ hitmaker and Bubbles, revealed through those who witnessed their friendship throughout the years.
“Animal Planet connects viewers to the natural world through captivating characters and stories that inform, entertain and celebrate the wildlife on our planet,” Rahul Johri, senior vice president & general manager, India, Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific said in a statement.
“Offering intrigue relationships, unscripted drama, pet entertainment and gripping encounters, Animal Planet is dedicated to mankind’s eternal fascination with the creatures that share our world,” he added.
Bubbles wore designer clothes, flew first class and made appearances on TV talk shows. The chimp even learned how to moon walk. He joined Michael on his 1987 ‘Bad’ tour of Japan and on other trips around the world. Bubbles became the world’s most famous pet, and for six years the two were inseparable, both in public and in private.
