FIA seizes 7 mini exchanges, 300 mobile phone sims and equipment worth Rs. 20 million
Mini exchanges caused 50 million monthly losses to the national exchequer

Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officials in its crackdown against mini exchanges on Thursday have claimed to seize seven mini exchanges working in different areas of the provincial capital.
The FIA officials told that six teams of the FIA under the supervision of Deputy Director Cyber Crimes Sajid Akram raided different areas of Lahore to unearth the network of mini exchanges functioning in the city. FIA conducted this operation with the help of Pakistan Telecom Authority’s officials. Operation continued for fourteen hours and during the operation FIA officials seized 7 mini exchanges and recovered equipment worth Rs 20 millions and three hundred mobile phone sims. No arrests were made though FIA have registered cases and have initiated an investigation. According to the FIA officials these mini exchanges were causing Rs. 50 millions monthly losses to the national exchequer.
