KARACHI
The University of Karachi (KU) has not formulated a new admission policy for the new academic year and announced that it would continue last year’s policy.
A meeting of the KU Admission Committee was held on Monday that was decided that the admissions for the year 2011 will commence as per the policy of the previous year.
In order to make the procedure less complicated, it has been decided that applicants interested in applying for admission to the faculty of pharmacy can apply on the same form for morning and evening shifts, whereas separate forms will be issued for admission to the morning and evening shifts for other departments.
It was expected that due to the recent floods, the university will extend the admission date for the year 2011. But the university has decided to give provisional admissions to the applicants from the flood-affected areas without their documents. However, their admission will only be confirmed when they will submit the required documents.
A three-member committee has also been formed to facilitate the entire process of admissions. The committee will guide students and parents according to their needs. A special security plan has also been devised to avoid unpleasant incidents during the process.
