The Sindh government has decided to cancel all winter vacations for schools and colleges while the weekly holiday of Saturday has also been cancelled to compensate for the educational losses incurred due to the recent floods.
Sindh Education Minister Pir Mazharul Haq chaired a meeting at the Sindh Secretariat in which it was decided to postpone the annual examinations of Matriculation and Intermediate by 15 days. The meeting was also attended by the Sindh education secretary, examinations board chairmen and college principles. It was decided that Matriculation examinations would commence from April 12, 2011 while Intermediate examinations would start from May 10, 2011.
