KARACHI:
All shrines sealed after the ‘twin’ suicide attacks at the city’s patron saint Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi (RA)’s shrine were reopened after Sindh Home Department gave the green light.
“There are mosques in vicinity of most shrines. Those who want to offer prayers there were facing difficulties and that is why we have ordered to open them (shrines),” Sindh Auqaf Chief Administrator Manzoor Kanasro told Pakistan Today.
Earlier on Thursday, the provincial Home Minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza had announced that all shrines of the city will be sealed until further orders. The sealing had left the devotees and the homeless frustrated and stranded. The reopening would come as a welcome relief to many.
“However, the shrine of Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi (RA) will be opened after the Sindh Home Department gives permission,” he added.
