The Capital Development Authority (CDA) , currently suffering from a grave financial crisis has not seen any effort from its finance wing to get it out of the fix it is in, an official, asking not to be named, told Pakistan Today.
No work had been started on projects as old as a year and influence and nepotism were deciding the projects which were being taken up, he said. “The Complaint Cell has received hundreds of complaints regarding this issue but nothing has been done,” he added.
“CDA will have to sell its land if the current situation continues, but selling it at throwaway prices is a violation of the law,” he said. .
The Member Finance CDA Saeed-ur-Rehman confirmed that due to financial crisis the authority had stopped the development on its mega projects. When asked that what steps had been taken by the CDA to improve its financial position, he said that the CDA had curtailed its development and non development expenditure and was planning to auction land.
