American Cristie Kerr is the clubouse leader in the first round of the USLPGA Navistar Classic which was suspended Thursday because of darkness.
Kerr, who had an early tee time, fired a seven-under 65 as the players who failed to finish will return in the morning to complete the first round at the Capital Hill Golf Club. The second round is expected to start on time.
Morgan Pressel, Dorothy Delasin and Anna Nordqvist are tied in second place at six-under 66.
Kerr parred her first four holes, birdied the par-five fifth. She made it three in a row, then added another birdie at hole No. 9. All of Kerr’s birdie putts on the front side were from inside 10 feet.
