ISLAMABAD: A minor who was found dead from Chak Shehzad town of the federal capital on May 15 was identified as an 11-year-old girl named Farishta on Tuesday.

According to sources, Farishta belonged to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Mohmand Agency district. The culprits abducted 11-year-old from Chak Shehzad town, raped the minor and then threw her body in a forest after murdering her. On the evening of May 20, Farishta’s dead body was found from some distance to her home in a severe state which indicated the savagery innocent girl must have gone through.

Her body was later shifted to Polyclinic Hospital of Islamabad for a postmortem report. Sources said that Farishta’s family had filed a missing report for her on May 15 in Chak Shahzad station yet it took the police four days to file it, at 8 pm on May 19.

On the other hand, the administration has assured 11-year-old’s family of accelerating probe in the affair to arrest the culprits and conclude the postmortem after the bereaved family staged an overnight protest on Monday outside the hospital against the attitude of the police.
