Former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif visited Data Darbar on Sunday to offer fatiha.

Nawaz Sharif reached Data Darbar amid beefed up security from his Jati Umra residence. The erstwhile premier stood beside the grave of Hazrat Ali Hajveri – commonly known as Data Ganj Bakhsh –and closed his eyes in respect.

The former prime minister, who is suffering from cardiac disease, is slated to go back to Kot Lakhpat Jail on Tuesday after the expiration of his six-week bail period.

The SC had rejected his plea for extension in bail and barred him from going to London for the treatment.

On March 26, the SC had suspended Nawaz’s sentence in the Azizia Steel Mills case and granted him bail for six weeks — but on the condition that he would not leave Pakistan during that period.

The order further said that Nawaz will have to surrender to the law once the six week period expired and that he could not apply for an extension in the bail without doing so.
