Nawaz’s bold decisions saved Karachi from terror: Shahbaz

KARACHI: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shahbaz Sharif Wednesday said that the courageous decisions of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif have saved the people of Karachi from terrorism, strikes and extortion.

“I hope the followers and supporters of Nawaz Sharif will foil the bids of nefarious elements to reoccupy Karachi,” he said at a special meeting with PML-N Sindh leader Ali Akbar Gujjar at his residence in Lahore.

Shehbaz said that the active workers of PML-N in Sindh were the real asset of the party. “Success in the election will also strengthen the party,” he said, adding that the party leadership believed that Gujjar would succeed in making Karachi as the second Lahore of PML-N.

Shehbaz also said that the leader of PML-N had ordered that Ali Akbar Gujjar should be assigned party’s organisational responsibilities in the country’s economic engine and the largest city Karachi so that in next general elections, the metropolis could be made second Lahore for PML-N and its workers can succeed in making Lahore and Karachi great centres.

Gujjar thanked Nawaz Sharif for assigning him divisional president’s post of PML-N Karachi.

He also said that PML-N was his political house and its interests and development were his destinations.
