LAHORE: The Punjab government on Saturday gave an approval for extension in the deployment of Rangers in the province for another 60 days.
The summary of extension in the deployment of Rangers would be sent to the interior ministry for final approval.
Under Anti-Terrorism Act 1997, Rangers were deployed in Punjab to carry out joint intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in the specified areas.
