Two TTP men held in Karachi

Two militant suspects belonging to Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were held on Monday in a joint raid by the police and Rangers in Karachi’s Sohrab Goth area, private media reported.

According to police sources, the suspects; identified as Azeem Mehsud and Munawwar Mehsud, are members of a 50-member group that carries out terror attack and collects funds for TTP.

Azeem Mehsud is the father of Dawood Mehsud,  the Karachi chief of the TTP and the personal guard of ex-TTP chief Hakimullah Mehsud.

The arrested suspects were wanted for cases of terrorism, target killings and attacks on security personnel, including an attack on the home of slain SSP Chaudhry Aslam in 2011.

Police sources added that looted cash and weapons were also recovered from the possession of the suspects.
