Jumbo to stay at Lahore Zoo, forever

Jumbo, the African lion of Lahore Zoo who died on Tuesday, is being stuffed.

Born in 1998 to parents Leo and Rani, Jumbo entertained the zoo visitors for 16 years.

He had been ill for a few months and had been receiving medical treatment by veterinarians.

The administration said that due to illness Jumbo had stopped eating anything and was being fed artificially for the last one week.

He passed away on Tuesday morning.

His skin and head has been handed over to taxidermists after a necropsy.

Soon, he will be seen showcased at the zoo’s museum.
