Karachi Commissioner Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui has expressed concern over rising trend of cigarette and shisha smoking among the youth.
He was talking to the members of various delegations in his office on Friday. The commissioner was of the view that there was a need for concerted efforts to keep the youth away from cigarette and shisha smoking.
He said that the youngsters should be attracted towards constructive pastimes and activities.
The commissioner informed that the city administration intended to initiate a vigorous campaign against shisha smoking, gutka, main puri and chalia.
He said that he would soon convene a meeting of deputy commissioners of the five districts in the metropolis soon to chalk out a strategy against these menaces.

  1. I have noticed a lot of people who use shisha are now using electronic cigarettes or
what they refer to as "E-Shisha". They defiantly seem to be quite popular and you can get them in all the flavours normally associated with shisha pipes; apple, strawberry etc.
Hopefully this trend will continue and the health problems from smoking tobacco and shisha will be reduced
