Govt policies aim at economic prosperity: PM


Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Thursday said the government is pursuing a policy with the objective to achieve economic prosperity for the country and wellbeing of the people.
In a meeting with legislators at the prime minister’s residence, he said that consistent efforts are underway in order to conserve energy and increase the generation of affordable energy in order to narrow down the gap between demand and supply of electricity.
“Effective administrative measures have been taken to check theft and misuse of electricity,” he added.
Emphasizing on the need to accelerate the work on development schemes initiated by the present government, the prime minister urged the legislators to focus all their energies on the completion of ongoing projects and give priority to those relating to the construction of roads, water and sanitation, and electrification and gasification schemes so that the people can benefit form them as soon as possible.
The legislators who attended the meeting include MNA’s Usman Khan Tarakai, Yaqoob Bazinjo and Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa Provincial Minister Zahir Ali Shah.
